Focus on prevention of injuries & the proactive management of risks & Hazards Demonstrated success in leading a WHS team to continue a strong safety culture Hybrid work approach (5-day fortnight in our Kingsgrove office with site visits where needed) About your new role Reporting directly to the Group Manager Health Safety and Wellbeing who is based in Melbourne this role will be pivotal to the ongoing success of a proactive approach to Safety and Wellbeing.This role will see you leading and mentoring a team of 2 Safety and Wellbeing Business Partners to ensure accountability and productivity in line with priorities.You will ensure there is a consistent understanding of WHS responsibilities at all levels of the organisation whilst also monitoring and reporting on WHS activities and KPIS.You will also be required to but not limited toConsult with stakeholders across DSA in the safety and wellbeing strategy to meet DSA’s obligation to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employeesRegularly monitor hazard reportsEnsure compliance and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements are metSupport the Injury & Workers Compensation Manager to ensure effective practices are in place to prevent /minimise injury to the workforceWork closely with the Injury & Workers Compensation Manager to ensure effective processes are in place to prevent/minimise injury in the workplaceWhat will you need to have Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, preferably at degree level or aboveExceptional WHS and Business partnering SkillsStrategic capability to understand organisational challenges & development effective WHS programs & processes to ensure a safe working environment.Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills supported by robust commercial acumen skillsDetailed knowledge of WHS legislation/Regulations and evidence-based practicesSecond to none communication skills both oral and writtenNSW Driver’s licenseWho We Are Disability Services Australia (DSA) is a fully owned subsidiary of Scope (Aust) Ltd.
