About Your Role:DSA is seeking a dedicated Employment Consultant to join our team on a 6 month contract at our Seven Hills site (when not in lockdown) within our supported employment ADE. You will be responsible for providing pre-vocational support and training to prepare our participants for employment. Exceptional interpersonal skills are vital in this role, as you are required to build rapport with our supported employees to ensure their employment goals are met in line with their NDIS plan. Key Responsibilities:Assist employees with pre-vocational skills training.Match employees to appropriate jobs and tasks, according to their interests, abilities and the needs of the job/task.Provide vocational support and training; assist with inducting employees to the worksite.Develop individualised training plans and deliver/facilitate individual and group learning activities and training.Maximise employee's participations in the workplace and provide aftercare to ensure longevity in new roles. Liaise with local business, employers, government and non-government agencies on behalf of our employees.About You:We are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge of a range of disabilities and how they may impact on employment and the work environment. Therefore, it is essential that you are an excellent listener with strong attention to detail. Ideally, you have prior experience supporting people with disability, or have worked in a similar environment/role, and understand what it truly means to be person-centric! It is also important that you are a passionate and driven individual who has the ability to exceed key acquisition targets and support our participants to reach their full potential. Most importantly, you have a passion for the sector and relate to our mission and values.Requirements:Knowledge of the NDIS Disability Service Standards. Experience in assessing, training, and supporting people with a disability. First COVID vaccine dose.Current NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 and above) and your own motor vehicle.WWC Check and NDIS Workers Check or willingness to obtain.Certificate IV in Disability or relevant qualifications/experience.About Us:Disability Services Australia was established 1957 and is one of NWS’s largest Disability Service providers.
