So, if you’re excited by the opportunity of a promising career, here are some things that you might be doing daily, apart from the most important thing which is providing support to our participants in their own environment. Let’s face it, you’ll almost certainly learn a thing or two yourself.As a support worker you should:Be comfortable supporting adult clients with complex disabilities and behaviours that can challenge, this may include things like, mental health, addictions, involvement with the Criminal justice program, verbal and/or physical aggression, acts of self-harm, and sexualised behaviours.Promote participants' choice & control in their daily lives by supporting individuals to be an active part of their community which may include developing skills in training, budgeting, safe relationships, life skills, personal care.Have a good understanding of person-centered active support or willingness to embrace this model of support.Follow behaviour support & health care plans to support participants live more independently within the community.Some of our requirements:We are aware there are quite a few compliance checks (listed below) for this role however, what’s important to us is that you have regular access to your own car and a P2 NSW Drivers Licence or higher and flexible availability across a 24/7 roster which may include, mornings (6am-2pm OR 7am-3pm), afternoons (2pm-10pm OR 3pm- 11pm), active/sleepover nights (10pm-6am OR 11pm-7am).Who is Scope?Scope is one of the largest not-for-profit disability service providers in Australia, supporting thousands of people with complex intellectual, physical, and multiple disabilities.
