2019 was a special year for DSA’s flagship events in celebration of International Day of People with Disability. Picnic in the Park at Lake Alexandra in the Southern Highlands and at Blacktown Showground were a success as people with disability, their families and carers, and the community came together to enjoy a day of fun.
This is a milestone fifth year for both events, as they get bigger and better with more visitors and activities each year. A range of activities like park games, competitions, art in the park, live music and a free BBQ were enjoyed by all.
In the Southern Highlands, DSA partnered with the Wingecarribee Shire Council, local supporters and sponsors to put together a wonderful day out on 3rd December.
Visitors to Picnic at the Park at Blacktown Showground on 4th December were presented with loads of performances and activities, thanks to the efforts of a very dedicated organising committee, Blacktown City Council, sponsors, supporters and volunteers who all worked hard to make the day a success.
