A member of NSW Parliament for ten years, Ken has held several senior advisory and managerial positions within government. He previously held the position of CEO of the Office of the   Protective Commissioner and Office of the  Public Guardian. Ken has had an extensive legal career and has been a Director on DSA’s Board  for eleven years.

Thomas (Tom) has held consulting and senior management roles in a broad range of companies in Australia and overseas. He has twenty five years of experience in the insurance industry including as CEO in the Asia/ Pacific region, several Senior Management roles and Directorships. Tom has been an active member of Boystown for twenty seven years and has a Diploma in Marketing. He has been a Director on DSA’s Board for nine years.

Gart Bailey

Having worked in financial services for over thirty five years, initially in investment banking and subsequently in investment management, Gary held senior positions at Bankers Trust Australia, MLC Group, Wellington Management Company and Fidelity International during his executive career. He has significant CEO and Board experience and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Gary has been a Director on DSA’s Board for 3 years.

Barbara Jones

Barbara’s corporate career has spanned 30 years, with expertise in the field of Leadership Development. Her business experience spans Australia as well as internationally, as she has headed up specialist consulting businesses delivering services across the Asia Pacific region and the Sub Continent. Barbara has formal qualifications in Communication Management, Psychotherapy and Philosophy, and has been a Director on DSA’s Board for five years.

Matthew Payne

Currently a Partner at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, Matthew has over 15 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law with a focus on wealth, tax and estate planning. He is a director of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a trustee, director and company secretary of a number of private entities. Matthew has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), Bachelor of Laws and Masters of Business Law, and has been a Director on DSA’s Board for five years.

Linda Smith

Linda is a broad health industry specialist with over 25 years’ experience across change management, financial and general administrative management roles, with an emphasis on design and business process reengineering in both the Commonwealth, State and NFP sectors. Linda is a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Master of Business Administration and an Executive Master of Public Administration. She is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was appointed to DSA’s Board in October 2019.

Lisa Maffina

Lisa has an executive career spanning over 20 years in the energy and government sectors. Her experience includes internal audit, governance and change management, and she is currently Company Secretary of The Hunger Project. Lisa has a Bachelor of Business and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
